Classified as «Village de Caractère» , the Renaissance village of Barjac, is located in the Provençal Gard, in the middle of countryside, near the Gorges of the Cèze and the Ardéche. This is where we invite you to take a break for a weekend, a week or longer... You will enjoy strolling along the cobblestone lanes, squares and esplanades and discovering old stone treasures. The castle of the Roure’s Counts, renovated in 2008 as well as its medieval dungeon (the oldest part dating back to XI-XII centuries), the castle gates and other towers, have in the main,  been listed national heritage, and will enhance your walks. The Capuchins domain and the church are local landmarks that have resisted the passage of time  Fountains, Roman statues and other works of art make Barjac an important historical, artistic and cultural town. Here, the dryness of the land has been tamed by the cultivation of olive trees, cereals,  vineyards and, of course, lavender. Its perfume will enchant you as much as the sound of singing cicadas - an invitation to relaxation.
